Nancy Huppert

I am a proud St Augustine native whose ancestors arrived here in the 1760’s; my heritage also includes real estate with my great-grandfather’s founding of Eugene L Barnes & Son on St George Street in 1895, which has carried through four generations in this city – you could say real estate is in my DNA!

My career in real estate began in Los Angeles in 1985 when I joined a real estate investment group. Over the next 18 years I participated in the growth of our portfolio to include residential communities in ten states as well as office buildings, commercial stores, artist live/work lofts, and single-family homes in the Los Angeles area – a total of 60 properties. During this time I gained valuable experience and skill in acquisition due diligence, contract negotiation, and proformas. I also negotiated with municipal bodies for zoning changes and eminent domain issues. I supervised property management at our communities, writing employment policies and SOP’s. With my relocation to Austin, Texas, I set up a property management firm for a new portfolio owner, using my skillset. Relocating home in 2010 to spend time with family was the logical “next step” for me.
